About Shoreside Craft Studio

Shoreside Craft Studio started life 9 years ago as a little local craft and haberdashery shop. We were based in the heart of our lovely Ainsdale village by the sea in the North West of England. Since we first opened our doors all those years ago we have welcomed a new family member to the team, closed our bricks and mortar shop to work online, survived a pandemic and here we are today in our bright, sunny studio right back in the village where we started.

No more retail for us, as the part we love most is welcoming people to share and learn new skills with us.

The studio is warm and welcoming, offering a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.

All our classes are BYOB (alcohol, wine or beer) if you fancy it, we supply the glasses!

Tea and coffee are always available too.

Shoreside Craft Studio is a family affair:

Roberta is Northern Irish and answers to most names but is mainly a Bob (not Kate). She is frequently mistaken for being from Devon and can talk for England. She loves all things creative and will be the face you are most likely to see when you come along;

Mike is the silent partner, mostly because he can’t get a word in, ssshhh Bob! He is the calming influence and the one who reminds everyone that as nice as things sound they may, just in fact be, a tad over the top.

(He didn’t win on the pom pom wall though, who doesn’t love a pom pom?).

There are also 4 young people involved to varying degrees….

25 is hands on with building and coming up with ways to achieve the look we want.

22 is our resident lifter and mover of heavy things.

10 inspects and feeds back on ways to improve, he can be brutal but he’s usually right.

8 is our buying assistant, if it’s pretty, we have to buy it.

We also have guest tutors who you will meet from time to time depending which class you are attending.
